Clare and Ed chose the quaint little St. Peter's Church for their summer wedding a short stroll down the lane from the picturesque Askham Hall. The grounds and gardens are incredibly stunning with manicured topiary and beautiful terraced floral borders.
I'd never photographed a wedding reception at Askham Hall before so for me it was important to have a wander around the grounds prior to the wedding. I usually have a pre-wedding meeting with couples at their wedding venue so I arranged to meet Clare and Ed a few months before their big day.
We combined the pre-wedding meeting with a fun complimentary engagement shoot which gave us the opportunity to get to know one another and the photo shoot provided a selection of great images for Claire and Ed to choose for their signing frame.
Clare spent the night before her wedding at Askham Hall with her three Bridesmaids. The bridal suite provided plenty of space for hair and make-up.
Askham Hall's beautifully restored Grade II listed Bank Barn was personalised with a theme celebrating Clare and Ed's love of the Lake District. Garden herbs provided a splash of colour.
Clare walked the short distance with her Dad and Bridesmaid's from Askham Hall through the secret garden gate and down the country lane to St. Peter's Church.
The beautiful little St. Peter's Church was lovely and bright inside perfect for wedding photography.
There was no chance of Clare and Ed's wedding guests getting lost in the Askham Hall gardens with these quirky fun signs! The top left image is the sceret garden gate :-)
The Purple Sensation Alliums at the bottom of the terraced garden looked amazing. The Askham Hall logo features an Allium!
